ADMISSION FOR 2010/2011 ACADEMIC SESSION INTO

REMEDIAL AND BASIC PROGRAMMES

The School of Basic and Remedial Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Funtua announces the sale of application forms for admission into 2010/2011 academic session. The Remedial candidates are admitted from Educationally Least Developed States of the North for possible placement into 100-level degree programmes at Ahmadu Bello University as approved by the Federal Government. This programme lasts for nine months. The Basic programme prepares candidates to sit for IJMB examinations and successful candidates will be placed at 200 level. This programme lasts for 18 months.

(A) REMEDIAL PROGRAMME

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

(a) Candidates applying for this programme must have at least three (3) credits in science subjects with any of the following combinations: RS1: Biology, Chemistry, Geography; RS2: Biology, Chemistry, Physics; RS3: Biology Geography, Physics; RS4: Chemistry, Geography, Physics and two (2) passes at the ‘O’ level in the other subjects offered by the School.

(b) Candidates applying for this programme MUST register, sit, score the minimum national average of 2011/2012 UTME and MUST choose ABU as first choice.

The short-listed candidates will be invited for pre-admission test.

BASIC PROGRAMME (IJMB)

(a) ADIMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates applying for this programme must have at least five (5) credits including English and Mathematics and with any of the following combinations: BS1; Biology, Chemistry, Geography; BS2: Biology, Chemistry, Physics; BS3: Maths, Physics, Chemistry; BS4: Maths, Geography, Physics.

The short-listed candidates will be invited for pre-admission test.

2. METHOD OF APPLICATION

Prospective candidates are advised to purchase a scratch card at the cost of N2,000.00 from any branch of Unity Bank Plc., the United Bank for Africa Plc., First Bank of Nigeria Plc., and Zenith Bank Plc. The sale of the scratch cards will start on 19^th July, 2010, and will close on the 10^th September, 2010.
